I found this amazing tutorial at
and made this PLEATED POUCH.

The tutorial is very clear
and the pouch wasn't difficult
to make.

The fun part is that it is
quite fast to make,
and you can
play with the fabric combinations.

Remember my Bottled Rainbow attempt?

Somehow it didn't turn out quite like
a Bottled Rainbow.

This is what I'm talking about.

LAP QUILT FOR PINKY

... AND SHE LIKES IT !!!!!

May 21, 2011

A QUILT OF HER OWN

Winter is approaching and
the days and nights are getting colder.
Pinkie Lilly has been getting cold....

I thought she would like
a quilt of her own.
I had some Pom Pom pieces
and added some pink gingham
I always have in stock to it.
Gingham is really a joker fabric.
It fits (and embellishes)
everywhere and everything.

How about this combination
for a little girl's PLAY QUILT?

I pieced my last bits of children's fabric,
but I'm not too happy
about this combination.

Maybe I'll just leave the pieces
for smaller projects
in smaller combinations.

I really don't like to work
on combinations I'm not
absolutely IN LOVE with!

SO THIS IS IT

Lap quilt finished and fluffily quilted.

(bad, bad pictures... sigh...)

THIS IS DEFINITELY GOING SOMEWHERE ;)

I wasn't very thrilled about
the fabric combination for this lap quilt.
But the recipient wanted subdued colors
and those were the only ones
I had in the right quantity.

But after I found this fantastic fabric
in my linnen closet
(very soft and top quality sheet),
I knew it would be just what she wants.
Something cozy, soft and not garish.
Just right!!!!

My first attempt at a BOTTLED RAINBOW square.

Actually, I am going to adapt it to
a coffee table runner.

It's not as easy as I thought it would be,
since I want the lines straight.
And since practice makes perfect,
maybe the next one will be straighter!
