BUTTERFLIES QUILT

The butterflies' quilt is coming along.
I managed to cut all the squares.
Will be appliqueing more butterflies
and trimming it with a dark red border.

Update post soon...

Look at the condition of my knitting needles...
(can you see the little teeths' mark on them?)

and what about the guilty look on Pinkie's face?

I left them unattended for 5 minutes
and she managed to ruin them.
Bad kitty!!!

(actually it's my fault.
Cat's can't go against their instincts.
It's our job, as responsible cat "parents"
to take care of things
that shouldn't be reached by them,
or worse, harm them.
Well, I've learned my lesson)

I love my bamboo knitting needles.
They're light, they're elegant, the color is gorgeous,
they slide so smoothly
and they have a beautiful sheen.

But new needles take time to get this way.
I suspect its the natural oils in our hands
that make them this way after some time.
Well, I'm working with
my new needles now
and it will take a while
for them to become that comfortable.

KNITTING...

And the knitting goes on ...

I'm delighted with the soft touch
of this PIMA cotton.

The shine is great
and the color is gorgeous!!!

BUTTERFLIES still

I really liked the way
my squares lap quilt turned out,
so I decided to make another one.

This time I started the easy way...
that is, appliqueing the butterflies first.

I chose this time Rue St. Germain pinks
and combined it with other fabrics I had.

Can't wait to see how
the whole thing will turn out.

Don't you just love this idea?

Shopping_Food_23[6]

It's fun, and colorfull and
also a great idea
for a fun and
educational activity.

I found it at
and I'm definitely going to make it
for my grand daughter!!!

THE REASON WHY MY WORK IS GOING SO SLOWLY

Well, the title says it all...

How can I possibly sew with such
a nosy companion
(hey... I'm not complaining... he he).

Pinky is really sweet and I absolutely love her company, but I haven't been able
to work at the same rate I was used to
before she got here.
But her loving and purring
totally compensate this...

However, I managed to make some
more butterflies for the Pom Pom lap quilt.

I decided to use it and just add things
(embroidery, appliques)
whenever I have time and feel like it.
No pressure! Is this heaven or what?

KNIT UPDATE

Haven't been up to much lately.
Just some quiet knitting,
nothing thrilling.

So, I'm working on my knit patches
(remember? for destashing wool?),
but it's nice and very rewarding.

And besides, with a little hyper active kitten
by my side, it's very hard to work
on something more challeging...
for the time being...
I hope...
(smile)

KITTY CAT BLISS

Just had to share this with you

Miniatura

as seen at

BUTTERFLIES

Whenever Pinky let's me
(yes, that's Tinkerbell's nickname),
which is not very often,
I try to get on with my work.

I've been trying to free motion
my lap quilt, but so far
it has been very difficult.

Problems with thread tension,
with wrinkling, and with design...

So parts of it I quilt on the machine,
others I do by hand,
and I'm even embroidering
and appliquing some
in an effort to make it easier,
but still attractive.

So far, these are my results:
