Some knitting

I have been knitting non-stop.

I miss my sewing,

but I really want

to get this done.

I had back and two fronts

ready for this cardigan

for over a year now.

(who said I never finish my projects?)

It's the softest aran wool

by Debbie Bliss in lush

charcoal color.

I love the sheen of it.

So I sewed the parts and

am now working on a shawl collar

in soft cream.

I never follow a pattern.

I have something in mind

and I make a sketch of how

I want it to be.

But most of the time

I don't even stick to that. 

I keep changing shapes

and finishings, always based on what I

already have.

Most of the times it turns out right.

Or as I always put it:

it always turns right, because I

remake it as many times

needed to get it right. 

KNITTING...

And the knitting goes on ...

I'm delighted with the soft touch

of this PIMA cotton.

The shine is great

and the color is gorgeous!!!

KNIT UPDATE

Haven't been up to much lately.

Just some quiet knitting,

nothing thrilling.

So, I'm working on my knit patches

(remember? for destashing wool?),

but it's nice and very rewarding.

And besides, with a little hyper active kitten

by my side, it's very hard to work

on something more challeging...

for the time being...

I hope...

No news is good news, right?

Well, I wasn't able to post...

but I have been working!

Mainly cross stitching and sewing.

Actually, combining both in the same projects.

Doll Quilt

And this is my first Doll Quilt.

I am getting used to doing

some very fussy handwork,

 like those tiny appliques in felt,

and very small blocks.

It takes a lot longer to finish a piece of work,

but the results are very rewarding!!!

Another baby cardie finished.

This one goes to a friend who had

a baby girl three months ago.

I hope it will fit her in the winter,

some months from now,

although temperature varies

so much in Sao Paulo,

that I'm sure she'll be able

to use it either in

the morning or in the evening.

My first attempt at quilting.

Not so thrilling, but I love the fabrics and

I'm sure proud of what I managed to produce.

Anyway, I will continue practising

and maybe someday

I'll get there.

Here is the little thing again,

together with some comfort knitting.

NIGHTSTAND QUILT

My nightstand quilt is ready.

I love the colors, but to tell

you the truth:

it is too BRIGHT for

a nightstand.

Can you imagine waking up

every morning to this sight ?!?! (hehe)

I don't know about you, but

I'm not much of a morning person.

So I decided to use it in my

working place and quilt some

more subdued colors for it in the place.

I'll keep you posted!

KNITTED BABY RABBIT

This little baby really tested my patience

Imagine knitting on needles nr. 2.5mm

and all those little pieces!

And the stitching!!!

I really admire Julie for all the

work and craftmanship she has!!

SO THIS ONE IS FINISHED !

I knitted a semi-bow for the collar

and trimmed the sleeves with

the same fabric I made the little pocket

from the remaining fabric,

I will make a drawstring gift bag
